Actually, Autumn merely depletes the concentration of chlorophyll allowing the ever-present xanthophyll and beta-carotene pigments to show through. We here in the Canadas see this cavalcade of colour each fall too. I agree with your pronouncement on winter though - and he does it without Rohypnol even!
Justin - I guess you're not Swedish enough for this :). I hear they have bizarre habits of swimming in lakes/seas when other people are wearing winter jackets.
