Welcome to America

Guess what I found on the lighter I bought recently? Instructions on how to use it:
  1. Step one -touch it from above,
  2. Step two - push it down.
Which brings a couple of rhetorical questions to my mind: Do people who wouldn't know how to use it actually exist and if so wouldn't they be able to figure it out in like 15 seconds? Next thing you know we'll be having "Don't iron clothes while wearing them" and "You shouldnt' microwave your cat" warning signs.

Like I hear they have in America. If we're lucky maybe they'll treat us with instructions on how to use a bag of chips or a bottle of oil. Don't use oil for hamster bathing. Open the bag before you eat the chips. Do not mix chips with the cleaning products. Don't use it instead of contact lenses.

Why not simplify the whole procedure and just make a general sign to apply on every possible thing we can think off. Something like:

Think before using this. Not stupid proof.

The Power Switch
I thought I might try my hand at Technical Writing.

The "Power" switch is used to control power flow to the computer.

To turn the computer on, place the Power switch in the "On" position.
To turn the computer on when the Power switch is in the "On" position, leave the Power switch in its current position.

To turn the computer off, place the Power switch in the "Off" position.
To turn the computer off when the Power switch is in the "Off" position, leave the Power switch in its current position.

If you leave the Power switch in its current position, the computer will remain on if it is already on (Power switch in the "On" position) or off it is already off (Power switch in the "Off" position).
If the computer is not connected to an AC tap, the Power switch has no effect. If, however, the Power switch is placed in the "On" position while the computer is not connected to an AC tap and the computer is subsequently connected to an AC tap while the Power switch remains in the "On" position, the computer will turn on at the time the AC is accessed.

If the Power switch is placed in the "Off" position while the computer is not connected to an AC tap and the computer is subsequently connected to an AC tap while the Power switch remains in the "Off" position, the computer will not turn on at the time the AC is accessed
